Hi I'm interested is this pending on the quality of the work. Do you have any pics of the progress? whether from you or the company you contacted? I'm just curious to see the process of it.

Hi, I won't consider asking for payments until pictures of the hood and I'm ready to present all the glorious details of the development process. Sorry, no pics of the mold process, or progress pics. The manufacturing is not nearby so I can't physically check on the development. I will try to keep updated with my contact, and make sure that things are moving along to my satisfaction. Not going to be overnight, nor will it be one of those 12 month deals either, but let's be a little realistic. Hopefully some updates in next couple of weeks.

I want to do this in the most honest, respectful, and organized manner possible. Unlike other group buys of a custom nature, I won't ask for full payment till the hood is ready. A deposit, yes, to reserve a hood, but not full payment till the hood is ready to ship. I'll lay it all out when the time comes.

Thanks for everyone's patience!

Things are moving along nicely! Apparently the mold for the CF Hood is working fine since we now have a CF Hood ready for test fitting! I will have to schedule a time and place for the test fit, but that may be a few weeks so as much as I'd like to fit it to my car tomorrow, not gonna happen quite that soon. My car is actually getting some front end paint work done, and work schedule has me busy for the next week or so.

However, enjoy the pics! Probably don't do the actual hood justice, but it's real, and its gonna happen.

I'm anxious to get more details of the latching, and hinge mounting locations, but I'm fairly comfortable that these items are taken care of, since they have a pristine oem hood to work with.

Hopefully if a picture is worth a thousand words, these should sprout a dictionary :)

The company I have been dealing with is Advan Carbon, in S.Calif. I have no history with the company, just searched around for a company that would work with me, and seemed well organized and willing. Knowing that the market will not be supporting the sales of thousands of these hoods, they were still willing to work together and make this accessory available to our cars. After the group buy, hoods can still be purchased through Advan Carbon directly, but they will cost more. For my efforts in marketing the initial supply, supplying the donor hood, testing, we get a limited quantity at a very good price. No doubt if you do an internet search of the company, there will be positive and negative reviews, but my feeling is that the company does a very good job supporting enthusiasts, their products are sold in very reputable retail businesses, and other group buys by car clubs have gone well.

More to come!

Looking great Don. I will be watching this thread closely.

How about other parts? Fenders, doors, hatch and flares.
