So I was bleeding the clutchline tonight, and as I was under there, I realized where I have been loosing clutch fluid... the slave cylinder leaks... but not on every pump... Squirts right out from where the rubber thing on the rear end of it meets the metal...

So, is this thing worth the effort to get it rebuilt, and from what cars can I get a donor? I'm assuming that any W-58 would be fine... Which if thats the case, then they should be avaiable new even..right?

I figured I would post under this, How far does the slave cylinder move when you press it. I've the hell out of my clutch system but it always hangs going in to 1st. It graps right when I let off the pedal. The clutch doesn't seem bad, no slipping, I even tached it up and let go and it grabs, could it be my master cylinder??

you can get new seals for them but it usually won't be a permanent fix as its the shaft in the cylinder that has worn, and it will still have the play in it. I got a brand new one from Toyota for 110cdn.

Brian, Mine does the same thing... and so did my last Supra.. and a few others that I know of too... Its a Synchro issue, or so I am told. I just usually drop it into 2nd, then shift into first when I am stopped, and she drops right in.

I decided on a new Slave Cylinder from Toyota, around $60. However, I still leak a VERY SMALL amount of fluid. I usually top off my fluid every 6 - 8 weeks.

Toyota Part Number: 31470-30222 $55.09
Purchased: October 18, 1999
