I am curious to know how stiff the clutch is on everyone elses mkII. i have an 84 rx 7 and i can engage the clutch by puttin a little more than the weight of my good on it. While on the supra its a great deal more stiff and i cant really feel the friction point.

mines not stiff... its got a lil resistance, but not much, and it also engages almost instantly, lol
i think ive got about 1.5-2 inches of travel for full engagement
:)

nice and quick shifts :)

Try flushing out your clutch lines with fresh fluid. Should be done every couple of years anyway. Old nasty fluid can make it a bit harder to press and damages the lines too.

Mine used to be a lot stiffer, then when I rebuilt my slave cylinder (cuz it developed a leak) it got a bit lighter. Then, of course, within a month the master cylinder started to leak. Rebuilt it and it got a lot lighter then. Big difference.

hahah..no..i sprayed wd40 on that piston valve where the clutch pedle is..it is developing a creaking noise when i press the clutch pedle down...so i sprayed some wd40 near the spring and the hinge

I have both an RX7 and a Supra - the RX7 cluch is really light - it has to contend with a high rev very low torque engine. The Supra is the opposite so the clutch is considerably heavier. I also use a ACT 6puck which increases the feel a bit so there's a very noticeable difference.

alright some one to relate to...i also have an rx7(1984) artm and i like the way the clutch pedal is on that car..very light and can feel when it engages..thats why i questioned how stiff the clutch was supposed to be on my supra

what u need is some lube on the clutch horn. ur peddle should always be really light. i think its anti sieze that ur susposed to use but cant remember. just make sure u only use a little or it will fly onto ur clutch disk then u'll shift real nice and chatter (the clutch) all the way down the road.
