I just installed the Cusco ST front tower brace on my new to me '85 MK2, it's this model (not my pic):

Torqued the strut nuts to TSRM spec (27lb/ft), but I'm wondering about the turnbuckle in the center of the bar. I have installed braces on other cars but they have never had any adjustments like this, is there some sort of guideline as to how tight this should be (as tight as possible, only tight enough that the bar can be fitted, etc)? I don't want to over/under tighten. Weirdly I can't find any translated Cusco instructions for the ST as there are for their other series.

Did you find an answer yet?
I would loosen the adjuster so it's just slack and pre -load the bar so it slightly forces the strut towers to the out side.
I'll guess a turn and 1/2. It may slightly affect camber on your car(towards positive).
My rear brace just drops in-NO pre-load.

I've never tested the amount of body twist, when I jacked up one rear corner of the car.
