Hi friends,

seems I need a new brake piston for the rear disc brakes. 1983 model. I found one apparently for the MA6 with a diameter of 38mm.

Can anyone confirm that this would be correct?

The car is in a shop so I can't get to it quickly to measure myself.

Thanks for all pointers!

Zoe,

Here are a couple of screen shots from Rock Auto for the 1983 Toyota Celica 2.8L (Supra). They often show the specs on parts however the piston diameter is not shown. The seal kit says 43 which I assume is MM but again it's not clear if that is the ID or OD of the seal. Sorry! It is interesting that the interchange for the piston is varied so that might help your parts guy. Good luck. Font Circle Number Screenshot Auto part

Thanks! I found one of those service kits (w/o piston), maybe this is sufficient. I'll ask the guy for the diameter of the piston when he's going to dismantle it. New seals are most important and maybe the piston isn't bad after all.
Cheers,

Mille grazie!

Let's hope my little one survives the hibernation stand-still without additional brake problems, but good to know (and to buy, just in case).
