'85) 7mgte bought from nix99 in 5/2002 w/approx milage 109k - now with ~130k, .005 mill off head, HKS 1.2mm MHG, 10-30 Mobil 1 oil, warm tested:

CYL - PSI
1 - 155
2 - 155
3 - 153
4 - 155
5 - 152
6 - 152

'84) 6mgte bought from "Japanese Engine" in Auburn WA in 10/02, approx milage - unknown, never been opened, cheap dino 10-30 oil, warm tested:

CYL - PSI
1 - 160
2 - 150
3 - 165
4 - 165
5 - 155
6 - 150

I'm pretty happy with all the numbers. :)

i really need to test mine... whats a "decent" number for an 82?

i know i know, i should look in my haynes, but its in the garage. :?

Just a quick add on here.

Compression test vary quite often by who's gauge is being used.Look for even #'s with a max.10% variance.

Had an engine once at Nix.Tested 180 on the tester we had.Customer installs this engine,runs good,but his gauge says 110.He calls and blows a friggin gasket,calling me a liar,among a few other choice words.Sceduled the guy to show up the next day.Had Nix's gauge,his gauge,my personal gauge from home.Nix-180,his-110,mine-170.He hung his head,apologized,bought some more parts. 8)
