Okay,
I have decided I want to keep my stock diff (from 82 ptype, I hear this is LSD though I havent looked at it yet). I would like to rebuild it myself, due to lack of funds. Has anyone done this? What is required parts wise, aside from whatever I broke? What special tools will I need? Is there a writeup of the rebuild procedure anywhere? Any help would be very much appreciated!

Well, you might wanna check out Randy's website for info on rebuilding a diff:

It's not an easy task, but it is possible to do at home. I do most repairs at home, but I refused to touch this project for fear of grenading the rear end.
I think it takes a bit of skill to "dial-in" the rear end properly, although I'm sure someone will disagree with that statement.
