you know the ones, they hook up to the battery and they run a electorical curren through the chassis.

Do those actually work??

i have noticed a small amount of rust forming on the left side of the hatch, just under the lip.
im going to attack it as soon as possible to stop it causing a real headache.
I may also invest in one of those rust prevension units if they are any good??

I live right by the ocean btw....

I did a lot of this research on the net about 1 year ago. The end result was that those preventers work when the object is immersed in an environment that can carry electrons to balance off the charges and prevent corrosion. So this works well on a ship in salt water, but not so well in regular air.

The best method that I have been able to find is the old elbow grease method, strip the car, use POR15 to totally seal off all metal surfaces (I've seen it in action, and it sticks like an epoxy), and then paint or undercoat.
