hey all, i was wondering if any of you have encountered an engine problem like this before.
i hooked up my engine to a diagnostic computer, and when the throttle is depressed about a 1/4 of the way down, way too much fuel gets injected (like if i had it wide-open) so the fuel/air ratio is screwed up. the Supra only does it when it is warmed up; i have been told that throttle position sensors are programmed until the car warms up.
i took the car to my mechanic, and he initially thought it may have been the catalytic converter. so, they cut the cat out, and it was jam-packed full of crud. but, no, that didn't fix the problem. so, the symptoms seemed to be a screwed up TPS, but they got the new part installed, and it didn't fix the problem either.
the plugs, TPS, airbox; they are all fine. my mechanic and I are so damn stumped. any replies would be grand.
