82 Supra. Have been completing a minor restoration including turbo upgrade. While trying to seperate glass from base on one of my foglamps (wanted to remove deflector for brighter lights), I shatered the glass lens. Anyone know if this is a Supra specific part or can it be found on other Toyotas (local pick-and-pull doesn't have any Mk II's).

Thanks.

Yes, these are MKII Supra specific. Nobody else in the Toyota line used this specific fog lamp housing. MKIII fogs are not going to work either (mostly square shape, vs rectangular on ours).

BTW, The fog light housing alone, the last time I checked, is ~$130 new at the dealer. Put something in the Wanted Forum & see if anybody has a spare.

Hey All,

To make your fog light as bright as you would like... Look towards Australia for the (driving) fog light because the lens is clear glass with no ripples inside it... But they are designed for high beams only... I have a set as well as a Yellow fog light set (from Japan) with a deflecter and a white (European) set with no deflecter.

And no, I am not interested in selling my set as I change the lights through the different seasons...

Cheers.

What do you mean clear glass with no ripples?
Mine have ripples.
Also see Paul P's pics, about half way down...
Toyota makes many different variations of foglamps for the MA61, here are the two versions I am talking about...

The one that are fitted on Paul P's car is the one that I currently have on my car as shown below

the one I am talking about is the one you can see clearly through the lens.
seen below

Hope these images clarify what I am talking about.

Just keep rubbin that in our US faces, what with your AUS clearness beauty...
Nice.
If I were you, I'd try looking at every pull-a-part yard for one. Even far-away ones. It's worth spending a full tank of gas to get one for cheaper than 100+ at a dealer. Pretty rare tho, but I got mine for 20.00 each. I always keep an eye out for 'em, since they're needed so badly.

Otherwise, post in "Wanted", scroll thru "For Sale", and keep your fingers crossed :)

But the clear ones are not Australian.
I have never seen a clear foglight on an Australian delivered Supra.
Where did yours come from? Japan? Europe? New Zealand?

FYI, the fog lights are interchangable left and right.

Also the running light bulbs #194 look really good with amber bulbs to match the turn signals

Fog lamp deflectors

FYI, I removed the fog lamp internal deflectors by filing and drilling out the mounting rivets, then via needle nose and some nosed metal shears nibbled pieces away until I could get the biggest part out through the bulb hole. I then cleaned the insides with a combination of tooth-brush, paint brushes, soapy water and dried with a hair dryer. Oh, lastly filled the rivet holes with high-temp silicon glue. I am going to rewire and add some 100watt H3s. :)

I see these fog lamps in the junk yard quite often (at least in the SF Bay area)

Ross,

It depends I suppose if you where lucky or not to get the highlight lens instead of the fog lens. Most of the Supras in my area have the highlight lens and not the fog lens like Paul P's car. There are many different lens around fitted on the Supra, just pay attention and be supprised the variety around.

If you see another set of clears, grab them for me.
As stated, I have never seen a set on an Australian delivered car.
Do you have the full history on yours?
Are you sure no one swapped them?

Ross,

I do have set of 3 foglamps at home but none are for sale. I have a fog set like Paul P's on his car on mine at the moment, I have a set of Japanese Yellows and a Highlight set for when I am bothered to change them.

I am the second owner of my car and it came with History. The car came with the foglight sets. I stumbled across a yellow set at the wreckers so I chucked them on to look a little different (also driving across in the foggy plains from Waranabool and back). Then my mate gave me the highlight lens because he hated to see me driving my yellow lights.

That is the short history of foglamps fitted to my car.

Cheers.
