I copied this from my post in the thread Anyone know of a good place to get a Rebuild kit. Since you want to keep the stock compression ratio there is no reason for you to get forged pistons.

"Go to http://www.importperformanceparts.net/, Import Performance Parts is a division of Flatlander Racing. A friend told me about them before, I personally think that they're the shiznit.

Click on the Toyota name, then on the next page click on Engine Kits, then click on their TopLine Engine Kits. They have kits for the 5M-GE and the 7M-GE. They are also inexpensive too, their basic kit is just the bearings, bolts, rings, and gaskets. Their Major Engine Kit comes with "contains complete gasket set, set of pistons and rings, main bearings, rod bearings, thrust washers, timing belt, balance shaft bearings (if applicable), and a set of expansion plugs (does not contain camshaft, timing kit or oil pump). Pistons & Rings: Std., .020, .040. Bearings: Std., 10, 20, 30." Their Gold kit includes all of that and an oil pump and costs $489."[/i]

I had a set of Weisco that I sold. But if you do a search on the yahoo forums you can find all the details it was about a year and a half ago.

If I recall they were like $1300 something for the set of Two as that is the only way Weisco would do it.

After researching i chose the 8.5.1 comp ratio as that would work better with a turbo.

If you are not turboing and are going back to stock specs I think Dana or another company offers the stockers quite inexpensively.

No reason to go forged if your not abusing them.. and even if you are...

well, i remember him saying he was trying to get them to mass produce them. eagle forged rods for the 2jz are ~$550/set. so if they make them for the 7m they should be around the same. if they hold up to 1000rwhp on a mkiv then they should hold the 600rwhp im going for in my mkii.

I don't have my contact info for Eagle any longer, and can't find them online either. I do not know if they started working on the 7m rods. The rods would be H beam I believe, like their 3sgte and 4g63 (mitsu) rods. Race prepping stock rods will go very far for the 5m/5mge. Cya!
