So I start up the car after it has sat about a month. As i am looking around under the hood, waiting for the motor to warm up, i see a liquid leeking out. Put my hand in it, and it turns out to be gas  . This is at the end of the fuel rail i believe, A plastic cap, the fuel is leaking from there. I assume i only need a new part, but could someone explain what that thing is for???

I had what sounds like the same problem on my Celica. At the end of the fuel rail. Is a plastic part called the fuel pressure dampner. The plastic end cap gets old and cracks. I got a new one from Toyota for about $35. It just unscrews and then replace it with the new one.
