Has anyone fabbed or installed a new fuel line? Due to corroded fittings, I twisted my line into at the tank side. It's temporarily patched, but that will not suffice.
I'm thinking of fabbing a Aeroquip flexible line to the filter from the tank. I'm guessing a -4 line should work.

BTW - It's the pressure (feed) line

if yer running an 82 then you are probably around 35PSI in the feed line, so any adapter you use better be damn good!
I have had success clamping HP hose to steel line with 2 - 3 worm clamps, but I wouldn't suggest it for a non-race car.

If the steel line that is left is still workable (not too embrittled or rotted) then there are fittings you can get to do a brake-line-style add-on which will give you a barbed fitting to clamp to.

As to hose, there are some excellent fibrous-core HP fuel-grade lines out there, go shop, and , please, DO NOT be cheap about it.

The amount of high-test that gets spewed about when the pressure side lets go is stunning. (BTDT) lol

Another option to consider when mating poly line to steel line is to get fittings clamped to the poly line by a reputable hydraulics shop, then you can just bolt up and go!

And yes, methinks about a 5mm ID would do fine!

Actually, the car is running on '85 fuel management (in tank pump), and that pump's being replaced with a Walbro 255. Not planning on using a barb hose fitting (just don't trust the clamping force). My biggest concern is adapting the metric (15mmx1.5mm?) fitting to NPT 4AN fittings.

For now, I'm just going to do a compression fitting repair ($10 max). I still want to upgrade that line (it takes more turns than the Blue Ridge Parkway). :lol:

use AN fittings go with a -6 steel braid the hoal way this way if you ever wont to mod your car you will have more that enufffff gas -4 to -6 about the same price.
