Hi,

My 2.8 manual has just started an intermitant problem. Sometimes when starting it it will run for second, then cut out. Have checked the power to the fuel pump and yes its has power when cranking the engine, but soons as it starts the pump goes dead. I'm thinking it could be Fuel Pump relay, any thoughts?

Might be the fuel pump itself taking a dump. I would go get a pump, keep the receipt, and try the new pump. If the new pump doesn't change the way the car acts, take the new pump back, or keep it as a spare.

Could be the realy, or could be the AFM. When the key is in the "START" position, the AFM signal is bypassed and the fuel pump turns on.

One way to check to see if it is the AFM (or pump), bridge the fuel pump check connector, start the car, and see if it still has issues running.
