hey wassup everyone....i was wondering if the ground control coilovers for the celica gts will fit the 85 supra. I know they only make it for the front.

I have a set on my Supra, fit's no problem except for cutting down the red adjusting sleeve. I swapped them over after I scrapped my '83 Celica hillclimb car. Any questions, just ask....

I ordered them directly from Ground Control. You can get it to go pretty low depending on the length of spring. But...you may run out of suspension travel if you drop it too low. When I had them on my Celica, I used 350lb, 7" springs. Right now I have 600lb 8" springs in, and adjusted all the way down and sits alittle below stock height, maybe alittle lower, I never measured it to start with.
Thanks to "Don L" for the tip on what springs to use.
When you call or email GC, let them know what kind of driving you do and they will help you out with what springs to run.

Forgot to mention the price, I think it was about $250-300, maybe more or maybe less, I got them sometime last year. You have the choice of what length and weight springs(Eibach's) you want at no additional cost.

What do you mean by cutting down the red sleeve? I mean, cut down where? Grind? And also did you weld the threaded sleeve to the strut housing, or just let it sit on the stock spring perch?

Thanks

If you use the Celica coilovers, you need to cutoff about 1/4-3/8" of the red sleeve, top or bottom, it doesn't matter. I have it sitting on the stock spring perch. The sleeve is aluminium, can't weld that to the perch. O-rings hold it in place and keep it from rattling around, plus the strut nut prevents it moving as well.
