Silver Slug had a early Xmas present several weeks ago, in the form of a new water pump.. :? But since it was being nice for most of the year, it got treated to a oil change (now running a full synthetic, rather than a synthetic blend), and I had the Auto tranny fluid flushed out & changed (changed from the old original fluid to Redline Racing ATF (their Type F application) Synthetic).

Redpra had it's early Xmas present over a month ago, in the form of the JK V2 Short Shifter. Need to install that & my "in slightly better shape Maroon steering wheel" eventually.

my Supra's early Christmas presents were a new alternator and battery a few months back; plus, i gave her a wash the other day too :D unfortunately, my Soop' is naughty every day -- the motor has some sort of hesitation problem; thing is, the car only hesitates when it's warmed up.

what my car does, is that the motor hesitates from idle to about 3000rpm, then from about 4500rpm to redline. the car is driveable in those two rpm ranges, but i can't floor it -- if i do, the motor bogs down and makes a 'machine-gun' noise out of the exhaust. it's really aggravating and annoying; i think i'm just going to start replacing shit to see what happens (spark plugs/wires, distributor/coil, o2 sensor, fuel pump, etc.)

i've taken it to my mechanic several times to see if the problem can be fixed... he's tried several things (new ECU, new AFM, new TPS, new distributor, removed catalytic converter), but the hesitation is still there. when the car was bought (last May), it had this problem. the car had pretty much sat since '96, and in '95 the timing belt was replaced.

i know i should post this up in the Engine forum; but, i've posted twice about this in the General Tech forum, and garnered very few responses. can anyone relate to these symptoms/problems? meh, i think i'll just save up and buy a 6M from AG

Dunno if I can consider mine naughty or nice. It has a new water pump, alternator, battery, and all the pulleys are painted red. Also replaced most of the vaccum lines with new red vaccum lines. All this work in the past month, with the alternator and battery being done today. Well, I love my Supra, so I think it's a fair tradeoff, love, work, etc. Well, the wonderful world of snowy roads awaits me Christmas day, so I go to bed now.

My 82's been naughty..but still got presents! Wouldn't start so it got a new starter motor for $200 bux plus $166 for labor and electrical tests(emergency, died in the driveway of my transmission shop before i could get it worked on. Had to get it towed across the street to be fixed, right in the middle of a snowstorm. 3" of snow fell that night.)
Still needs a new rear seal on the tranny(the original problem, it was leaking)so thats still to come.
Then because i had let her leak for a few days..she started dieing again..turns out it was some $15 buck battery cables that was the real problem. D'oh... well now i have offically replaced all the major mechanical parts in the engine bay, the starter was the last part that was old! So thats kind of cool too. Brian

still dead

Mines been dead and haven't brought back to life even once yet since the swap. The starter clicks and solenoid is out. Had only so much funds and got a nice black dash and door panels instead while I had a chance. I'm going crazy waiting for a starter, but at least its much easier to come by  :x
