Hey Guys,

I've done a search so don't flame me if this has been covered already somewhere else. I was skimming throught the www.cyberauto.com website again and noticed that they sell an FCon for the 5m. I've sent them an email, but their response time def. needs some work.

Do any of you guys know how this works. How would it compare to the MAF Conversion(that nobody has working yet  ). What are the limits of this unit in regards to calculating adding fuel requirements for boosted 5/6m's. What sort of boost can be run??

Any input/insight you gents/ladies may have would be HIGHLY appreciated.

George,

From the HKS USA website. This is a description for the PFC F-CON S.

http://www.hksusa.com/categories/more.asp?id=1069

The older original F-CON is not as refined as the newer one. All it is, is a black box & the fuel maps are already set. It "appears" that on the newer one, it's adjustable, but I did not see a picture of one.

Basically...... The F-Con works best in conjunction w/ other HKS items that you may or may not need as well. At least this is what my 1998 HKS catalog is telling me... Others????

Ok...just got a response from cyberauto.com. They have the fcon with the stage 2 prom chip that requires 295cc injectors.

Now, i've been nagging at this issue for months...so i thought i'd irritate some more people by bringing it up again. And for those who don't know what I'm trying to do...here it is: I DO NOT want to do a 7mgte conversion, so don't bother trying to convince me...it won't work.

I want to stick to the 6m and boost the hell out it...i know...sounds insane, but i'll explain my reasons another time. MY concern (for the 100th time) is fuel management. I have come up with a few sollutions, but needed some input from you more experience members:

1. MAF Conversion - not feeling too conformtable with this obtion anymore with a hight boost application
2. Stand-Alone - most reliable option, but very expensive
3. HKS FCON, HKS VPC and HKS GCC - our local Toyota Master Mechanic is a Wizz at reprogramming the vpc to suite any application. Sent out a few emails to find out what's available. Cyberauto seems to have most of the stuff...ebay's got a few of these babies around too.
4. Greddy E-Manage - know very little about this device
5. Apexi AFC/HKS S-AFR- again not too comfortable with this route, even though essentially it does what the fcon/vpc and gcc do
6. ????

I'm basically looking for a system that can tune 6m electronics safely, yet not break the bank (i know I'm asking for too much). But you can't tell me there aren't/weren't 400+ hp 5/6m out there.

So let's here it...what do ya'll think.

I think anything is possible as long as you build the motor bottom up first if your trying to accomplish those numbers, but dont feel lonely as i am also trying to get past 350 with a 6mgte once i get it. good luck

im going 6mgte at stock boost first with the SDS EIC 2 additional injector kit. It has its own controller which has a boost knob to let you set the boost pressure you wish the unit to start injector at. It also has a knob fuel gain control that allows you to fine tune fuel delivery to your specific needs from 1 - 100%. The internal microprocessor and MAP sensor control fuel flow from your knob selections proportionally with RPM and boost pressure. This permits a trickle just coming on boost at low rpm, to a storm at full boost and high rpm. You retain the off boost driveability and emissions of the OE system and have full control over the extra fuel you need under boost with a turbo fitted or at higher than stock boost pressures. Max boost pressure is 21psi Its a bad ass setup that im hoping to get up to 400 with after forged stuff goes in  ehe good luck
