Hood Struts

This is quite the old post, but what is everybody doing for replacement hood struts nowadays??? Mine aren't totally shot, but the hood will close on its own after about 30 seconds.

replacement are available, not OE I beleive.

vise-grip locking them on the shaft of the strut, to prevent them to go into casing =
hood stays up....

I've been using a bottle of Meguire's Quick Wax to help out my hood, doesn't look as ghastly as pliars, looks more like advertising a good product :thumbsup:

haha i only use the pliers at home... good idea with the meguire's

in the area where i live they are 28 each at car quest, 24 each at autozone,32 at napa all of these had to be special ordered. auto zone had a week wait.
