I'm just finishing a heater core job, and the hoses going to the core were never connected due to the previous owner removing it from the loop, so i'm not sure where they go,,, I'm pretty sure the side hose (pointed at in the picture goes to the upper connection in the block,, but where does the hose go from the bottom of this device? top connection to core, or bottom?

One more thing,, I flushed out my coolent system my self and I'm switching to red,, just wondering if a few green drops will do anything bad?

RE: Hose connections???!?!1111!?

I would really like to drive my car and there is only one thing holding me back right now. I would really appreciate it if one of you could look under your hood and tell me which hose goes to the heater core.

- Clarification
In my avatar picture, there is a metal device thingy with a fat house that comes out of the bottom (btw its NOT the one the arrow is pointing at). What i am hoping you could help me with is whether that hose connects to the upper, or lower heater core pipe.

I just paid $200 for this brand new heater core and i dont want to hurt it by conecting the hoses wrong and passing coolent flow the wrong direction through the core. Even if you dont think it matters which way they are connected, I would really like to connect them the factory way (my haynes manual doesnt show anything about heater cores, this is my only refuge).

Thanks in advance, I feel lost without my car..... (Mazda mpv's suck.)
