Thanks guys...I tried to make it as self explanatory as possible. Jake, I'll hit you up tomorrow with info. I'm working on this for other areas of interest as well, and they will be stickied too. My flash card has been my best friend lately while I put this stuff together. :suicide:

Wonderful information!!!!

Any chance you could do the same for the 4M-E and the 5M-E for us guys with MkIs?

And the 1JZ and 2JZ for the guys with swaps? (and gals too - just to be PC!)

(I know you don't have anything else to do but take care of us on the forum :) )

THANKS!

^^That's correct...and again thanks for the compliments. I'm working on other stuff, it just takes time to get all the info and pricing compiled and make good screen shots of the catalog. What with all the other things I'm responsible for at work, it takes me longer than I want it to. This info should relate to 90% of CS.com's population. The MkI owners are a small group, but I'll work on getting those up. This started off in my head with the 7MGTE guys...there's so many hoses in their engine compartments (and they all seem to need replacing) that pictures really help them identify which hose they need. The JZ peeps...wellll...I'd imagine that they use 5MGE heater hoses and 2J engine hoses, I'll take those on a case per case basis.

Std Vacuum Hose Pricing?

I purchased at my local Toyota Parts Dept (I like to $pread my love around), 3 sections of standard vacuum hose for 5M. They were 2 foot sections. Part No. 90999-92004. With my discount there $8.51 each (list $11.35 ea) That works out to $4.25 per foot. Kinda pricey! I was thinking there was only 6 feet or so of hose for the engine from someone's post. Of course, I have an '82 which has more hose than imaginable. There is quite a bit more than 6 ft. if you replace everything. Are these prices in line? Is there a cheaper way to order, and if I bought American by the roll or foot, what size would I specify?

You can purchase it in longer pieces and the price goes down a little bit Steve. I haven't seen rubber hose that is the proper 3mm inside diameter available in the aftermarket...it's almost always standard size, and less wall thickness. You can get metric hose in silicone, but usually it's in goofy colors and not black

PS...get my email??
Is THAT supposed to be funny? Lets see...what have I heard the last week about the lack of e-mail at work..."server crashed", "corrupted hard drive on server", 'Microsoft is trying to rebuild our data (no back up device)", etc, etc. It's been a huge headache the last week at work. We've had a rather 'amateur' IT business working for us in the past, and the new people have had two months to figure out what we had and where we needed to go for the future. All the pieces were in place for a smooth transition until the server melt down. I guess the $40K in hardware upgrades should take care of all the problems once the data is rebuilt and uploaded to the new server. I also hear that a backup device is on order. At least once they made the new server live last Friday I started to get emails on my Blackberry again. So yes...I did get your message and you will be hearing from me in the morning! Thanks eh! :salute:

At some point, would you post your best pricing on longer lengths of 3mm Toy hose. $4 per foot hurts. I'm beginning to feel silly about having spent so much $$ on what should be a standard commodity part.

90999-92002 300mm Length, $3.02, $3.02/ft
90999-92003 600mm Length, $1.54,$.77/ft
90999-92004 950mm Length, $8.51, $2.69/ft
90999-92006 1300mm Length, $13.63, $3.16/ft
90999-92007 1650mm Length, $21.54, $3.91/ft
90999-92008 2600mm Length, $31.08, $3.61/ft

So as you can see...the 90999-92003 part number is the better value of the bunch. I went ahead and rounded 300mm up to a foot (.98' actually). That help out Steve O?

Hey Mark, I thought I'd throw my question in here since it's something that I know plagued my brothers 89 MkIII and now my 87 MkIII. There's a hose on the 7Ms that is just a rubber cap that goes over the outlet on the exhaust side to the rear of the engine. Its off the outlet on that metal pipe that goes around the back of the engine. Looks a lot like item # 1626B for the 5MGE in the pictures above. Do you have that part? I have a picture on my phone, but haven't put it onto my computer yet. If you need a picture of it I can get one, but I think you should have enough info. Its about 1 inch long, and about 1 inch outer diameter with a .5 inch inner diameter.

Tim, I guess I overlooked the 7M cooling picture...it has the bypass cap you're referring to. I'll try to get the 7MGTE (cause that's what most peeps want to look at) cooling picture up with part numbers and prices. I really need to update the pricing as well...there was a general price increase at the end of July. Stay tuned...

It is really awesome that you have this thread, but could I bother you to post up the other lines for the 2 valves under washer tank and all the other stuff on the passenger side of the engine bay? I got a fan resistor box from you (via George) and looking to finish all this stuff up.

Don, Sorry I missed this post a couple of weeks ago. Dunno how that happened! I didn't include the stuff you mentioned because it takes regular old vacuum line, but I think this is the picture you're looking for...Thanks!
