How much power can they handle?

Exactly as the title says guys... How much power can the stock drivetrain handle before "real" reliability issues come into play. Not something most have heard, real proof would be cool. The W58 I have read can't hold much more than about 240whp...does this seem reasonable?
What about the rear end of an lsd? I wouldn't imagin they would be much to worry about until the 400hp range eh? Driveshaft? Stock clutch?

My stock clutch (which is within specs as of 10 000 km ago) will slip if I drop at more than about 3500 with fresh tires, and ive only got minor engine mods, so Im guessing any large torque increase will require an upgraded clutch. As for the tranny, didn't I read that Reg Reimer is running the stock w58 in his 400+ hp 7m-gte powered 82? I would also wonder about things like tranny mounts and the center-bearing mount for the driveshaft. The stock rubber ones might not take a lot of bashing around at 300+ hp.
According to Reg and the people hes talked to the W58 is good to 350Crank HP after that its driving style and time...flog it and it will break/baby it and it will last. But who wants to baby a 7Mgte

I've always wondered this too....for all those over 350 horses what are you running(drivetrain wise)!!!!

Like Wil says Reg is running the stock drivetrain in his car. I know he talked about the shocks and clutch and upgrading them but he doesn't seem to have any problems with anything breaking on his car. Worth mentioning though is with any car if something is about to break or is weak nothing will find it faster than more power!
I'm probably running around 350hp through my drivetrain. I'm using a late-model W58 and stock diff, both of which are holding up fine. I had a performance pressure plate (lots of clamp) and a conventional full-face clutch plate, but it turns out that wasn't up to the task. I have since installed a 5-puck clutch plate and it's all good now! :)
It was once said "You gotta PAY to PLAY!"
