yes, i finally broke down and got the exhaust from my parts car installed.

2.25" straight through, no cat, tipped with a dynomax muff.

maaaaaaaaan my car sounds gooooood.
i was rolling along and mashed it at about 2500 in 2nd gear, and the 50ish guy in the C4 vette looked over and smiles as he gives me the thumbs up.
his 20ish daughter really smiled when i opened it up all the way and got the raspy growl goin on

im gonna record it tomorrow i think, if only for my own satisfaction, but if anyone wants to hear, ill toss it up on a server someplace.

as an aside from the sound... the car feels more than just a tick faster, and it feels a touch more responsive, i think mostly because the other exhaust weighed at least twice as much, and i think the cat was fully clogged :shock:

I understand the sound bit. I just recently recorded a wav of my open 3" downpipe with the low pitched turbo whine at a high idle (that pulses then dies due to dead TPS)

While it's way too loud to tolerate at any length, the sound makes for a Tim Allen "augh augh augh"

You really notice the change hey...when I got rid of the old rusted out restrictive exhaust and put in the 2.25" with nice stainless muffler, I could feel how much better she breathed. It's not so much the power, it's more to do with how better she responds now...as you also said.

Tap on the peddle and it comes to life without thinking...slam it down and there is no turning back...you literally feel the gas flying through those new pipes and out the other end so much more easier...it's great! 8)

The loud sound compliments the aggressive, individual looks of the car...perfect!

yes, thats exactly it, it just feels faster, which is more fun than being faster, and yes, i do think i got a pretty good performance upgrade out of it too

now to bash some kinda cold air intake together and do the afm mod for just a touch more fuel, and i should be good to go.
