I had heard about this guy a few years ago, more or less... Guy buys a more or less intact Boeing 727 & wants to convert it into a house....

Of course I also did not realize that this guy is in the Hillsboro, Oregon area... Nice surprise that he's in the PacNW...

Big website w/ lots o pictures.. They are slow to load....

Heh.... Yeah, who needs a house in the future for a property investment. We should all buy surplus MD DC-10's or Lockheed L-1011's for our living quarters... Now we just need to figure out where we're going to park our Supra's... Maybe 50 years from how, surplus Airbus jetliner's will be the vogue thing... :woowoo: :jump-gay: :bling:

My Dad's a retired Boeing 747 Captain and here's what he had to say about that site after I showed him the link:

How exciting, living in a retired Boeing 727, it will be interesting to see how long it takes to get rid of the stink from the thousands of passengers that passed by, the smell of hydraulics, fuel, other liquids. A big windstorm might be exciting, a lightning strike might be entertaining, when the curiosity dies down, he will be at peace in a long aluminum tube, supposedly all by himself. He can spend endless hours sitting in the cockpit, running old simulator tapes, fly all over the world with no more danger than falling out of his seat.

Hey, to each his own, his own private, ground bound 727, should be easy to heat and keep cool, very quiet and he can always invite a few furloughed United Airlines flight attendants to hang out with him, tell endless airline stories, drink a little bubbly, get in a pile at night! I see nothing wrong with that.
