See... as it sits now, it is... but swap the twins out for a single, or even upgrade the twins, or even a simple boost controller.. and they make some decent power...

Would be a good motor to drop into an old mid 70's celica or a 22R pickup..

Oh yeah. It's only 30hp off from the 7m-gte.
Easily remedied.

They came with a W58 and dont forget they aren't as long, and they dont weigh as much as an M-series engine.

Sam & Frank,

The tranny itself should be fine, in terms of interchangablility, but I don't "think" the bellhousing will fit. Am pretty sure a G series bellhousing is not the same as the M series bellhousing... Unless they are the same.. (would be very surprised).

so would the bellhousing swap from a G series W58 to and R-series W54 from a pickup? I know you can do this on the M-series W58. This would be an interesting swap for a pickup. Thanks.

Externally there is no differences between the W58's. The gearbox side of the bellhousing will be the same, so if the bellhousing from an M-engined W58 fits a W54 then so will a G-series one.
