i have the hotter spark. my new ignition coil eats up distributor caps almost as fast as it eats up platinum plugs and my cheap sparkplug wires can be seen discharging to the engine lol it looks cool! i tried copper plugs but the contacts were worn after about a week and a half(when i had to replace the dist. cap again)
what's SDS?
i know i'm leaving stuff out but that's okay she isn't being built yet lol. you really dont think the head will move enough air to produce any power at 7600? stroked? what about a
[email protected]? i'm looking more for highrevving then mega power. with highrevving i can kinda make up for having less power by staying in 1st til 60 and 2nd til 89(did the math with my current gearing)
so i'd be better off doing the highrevving with a non-stroked engine?
why everywhere i read does it say a 5m with the same mods as a 7m(turbo yadda yadda) outrun the 7m. toysport says it too.
Properly set-up, a 5MG Turbocharged easily outrun 7MGTs similarly equipped with upgrades (the bodies were considerably lighter and the engines responded better- pound for pound of boost.
the way i say it makes it sound differently then i think it's supposed to. i still don't know what i'm going to do in the end. the engine when i get the 3.1L stroker in there should produce 250HP with nothing further according to toysport.
For all-out power Turbo charging is the way to go. Mandatory forged pistons will allow the engine to see and survive boost levels higher than the 7MGTE. An advantage is that the valves are bigger (although less in number) which will survive the heat better than the smaller valves of the 7MGTE (24 valves).
that is another reason i'm sticking with a 5m/6m
how much difference does twin turbos make over single turbo? i have a freind in south texas that is selling his 7mgte hks twin turbo manifold which i didn't know they made lol.
