I-75 - V6 driven by a girl who couldn't seem to get the point... I guess Ford limited the top speed because she was completely lost when I drove 125MPH for awhile. She kept catching back up because I'd run into traffic and she tried many times to go 3rd lane around me, but my wife is a good watcher

Got to Lexington and promptly got stomped by a mid 80s Z28 5.0 HO, though... Golly, I sure can't wait to get my 7MGTE in...

Didn't really think it worthy to mention the Focus that had a BITE ME sticker in the back window, although she probably would've had the Mustang's lunch, too... She couldn't possibly get mine.

Ford Focus

A friend of mine told me they've come out with a Focus that has the drivetrain of a Mustang GT and the thing flies.

Due to the aerodynamics and light weight of the Focus, it completely blows the Mustang away. Don't know if they'll ever produce a final production model, though...

I'm pretty impressed with the Dodge SRT-4... A car for less than $20k that beats the modern Subaru WRX & Mustang GTs. That's alright for a family car - even if it looks like a Neon with a funky hood.

Bet a lot of muscle car drivers don't know about it and would certainly be surprised & depressed about their own loss...

ifyou got stomped by a 305 f-body, that's pretty sad. if it was a 350 (ie. 5.7L), then it's not so bad.

the focus with the cobra drivetrain is a one-off thing... it will never see production. ever. and almost everyone knows about hte SRT-4 simply because it's so weird to see a fast neon that doesn't blow it's headgasket every few months.

Beaten by a mid 80s Z28...

I squawked my tires in the 1st 3 gears, following the guy and he easily ran away from me - must not have been stock...

Also followed a supercharged Eclipse last night and asked my wife to make note of the color because I don't want to even attempt that one, yet... The guy obviously didn't know how to shift and between shifts we could hear his supercharger belt squeal when he let the clutch go. Definitely would've laughed if he blew his engine or threw the belt...

I have a fully loaded 2002 ZTW 5spd that has the 16V motor in it, 130HP. I think it could kick my stock Supra 0-60 as it has more HP/#. That is one reason I am going 7MGTE, most newer ecomomy cars can out 0-60 the Supra stock.

There is a turbo available for the Focus that will add 50HP. There are a couple of guys that have transplanted the RWD Rustang drivetrain into the Focus. Probably a piece of cake compared to the Miata transplant.

The Focus is actually a nice transportation appliance. After addition of a thicker rear sway and Yokohama EVS100 tires, it will outhandle most cars out there and get 30mpg in-town. You can get them real cheap after a year of depreciation, about 50% off sticker.

FORD- Frickin Outrageously Ridiculous Depreciation.

First Ford I have owned. I drove one as a rental last time I was in Europe. When you can get a 12k mile car with ABS, traction control, side airbags, 4 wheel disc, 4 wheel independent susp, in dash 6 CD, leather, power everything, remote lock and alarm with 2 yrs warranty left for $11K, it is hard to turn down. The lower than Z level cars have a doggy 110HP motor. The car drives very Euro, has tons of 6 gallon hat headroom, as much cargo space as most SUV's. I was actually looking at a Matrix when I spied this in the lot. It has three times the room behind the rear seat.

This 2002 wagon listed for $20K. I am not proud, just frugal :). Saves money for the important things, like a 7MGTE transplant.
