I had my engine replaced on my 85 supra and they put a different motor in (I think a newer one from a cresida) and the problem is the check engine light. The new engine doesn't have a nock sensor but the computer is looking for one. So my question is there a way to fool the computer that I do have a nock sensor?

No way that I know of. You might be able to switch to a 84 5spd ECU to loss the KS functionality. 84 5spds would be the closest function wise to the 85 EFI system, not sure if the engine harness plugs are the same though. Another option, assuming the KS hole isn't tapped in the earlier blocks, would be to epoxy a KS to the block. You just have to make sure it doesn't vibrate or break loose. HTH

If it does not have a KS ,and the boss is not tapped,it is an 84 or earlier engine.I have tapped several for the KS,with no problems. The boss is shaped differently, would be a definate PIA to do in the car, though, may be just as easy as changing all the engine harness and ECU.
