I was talking to a guy with a Superformance Cobra at a show a couple weeks ago and he started telling me about somebody in their Cobra club who bought a Kirkham. Said he took it to a car show and had several little dents in it afterwards. Seems people like tapping on it and going "Wow, it really is aluminum!" Unfortunately he said its very thin aluminum and most people don't realize how fragile it is. And some idiot leaned on it while looking under the hood and left elbow impression. And then some other idiot knocked real hard on a Cobra next to it saying "Well this one's fiberglass!" The story ends that the guy sold his Kirkham and bought a more ordinary kit Cobra that he could actually drive and enjoy without worrying so much about it or causing such a stir.
