Hey everyone,

Just a quick post to let you know what happened to my neice. She owns an 85 supra and she put green running lights on her car and green lights on her wiper washers. Looks awesome at night especially on her black pra. While driving home a cop pulled her over and told her that those lights were not legal to have on her car. He said that as of next year the legislation is changing their things so that they will be giving tickets out as of Jan. Although they are making cars that have those stupid blue or purple lights that just cause problems to the eyes, and they are coming out with xenon lights on cars and those things really mess with some people, but little 5 watt bulbs are a distraction to other drivers. Oh Please! I just wanted everyone to know that bit of info.

Wisconsin is the same way. Any light on the rear of the car that is not a tail light or license plate is illegal and may already get you a ticket. Hood washer lights are ok (aparently) as long as they're not white. This is coming from some experiences a few years ago. If they've changed since then, I don't know. 4SFed would probably know...

Yeah, so lights on a mkii = bad thing.

Also, front license plates are a must have, I myself am just waiting for the pull over on that one. Mayhaps I should get new plates, the front one is still on my Honda, stuck. :shifty:

in alberta the law is you can have almost any light on your car that you want, as long as its not blue or red, and it must not flash.

also, blue and red can be gotten away with if the officer cannot see the actual element of the bulb.

this was about a year ago that i read the law, but most cops are also pretty decent about such things, as long as you treat them decently.

Man these people suck..........why can't we have lights on our cars? I could see if they were red and/or blue but come on green? We do not have to have plates on the front of our cars here, but my neice said that you have to in Mass as well. I think they do these things just to mess with people and make money.

That's it, I say that everyone that wants lights on their cars, other then the ones that they put on them when they make them, should move to Canada...............lol I am next as long as you can keep it warm up there Dogstar.

lol, well, keep a winter house in florida... you wouldnt like our winters, but the summers get plenty warm

canada is pretty lax on a lot of laws compared to the states, but we also have way lower population density, so small things dont become big problems as often.

48?! GOOD LORD! It's approximately 20 or so now, and I don't think any time in the forseeable future it will be any warmer than 27 here in Wisconsin. At least, every forecast I've seen has called for "scattered clouds with a chance of flurries". My Supra got stuck trying to get in my driveway, there's solid ice all over. I'm goin to Florida, where 48 degrees means run around nude...

Any red or blue light on the front of a non-emergency vehicle is illegal. Any light higher or lower than what's stated in the state revised code is for offroad use only. Lights on top of factory headlamps or below bumper height are illegal for public road use in most states.

All factory fog lamps must switch off when the brights are on (Who the hell made this ruling :roll: )

Thanks to the AARP aftermarket HID's are illegal. Changing the factory bulbs to a color other than white is considered illegal...etc...etc. etc...

I think they are already giving tickets out for incorrect lights up here in north florida. I have heard of people getting pulled over for washer lights anyway. Is that a wing sticking 3 feet off your back hatch?
