Lights that gets you pulled over.

Hey everyone,

Just a quick post to let you know what happened to my neice. She owns an 85 supra and she put green running lights on her car and green lights on her wiper washers. Looks awesome at night especially on her black pra. While driving home a cop pulled her over and told her that those lights were not legal to have on her car. He said that as of next year the legislation is changing their things so that they will be giving tickets out as of Jan. Although they are making cars that have those stupid blue or purple lights that just cause problems to the eyes, and they are coming out with xenon lights on cars and those things really mess with some people, but little 5 watt bulbs are a distraction to other drivers. Oh Please! I just wanted everyone to know that bit of info.

Ok, I really realize that some of you do not like the idea of colored lights on your cars, but there are some that do. I have green running lights that I like very much, they are not bright like those stup newheadlights that mess with my eyes that I have to endure every night that I am out and about, they are small and you really can not tell they are there when you have the fog lights on. I know that you can not have red or blue and hey I agree with that. But this cop told her that if she wanted some other color on her car that she could have amber lights on her hood and for her running lights, amber? Yuck. Any way to answer your question Wes..........Yes it was a whale tail on my hatch........no it was not sticking out three feet...lol, and it is not there any more!!!!!! I had it removed. I just have not gotten a pic of the car during the day with the whale gone. But I am trying to so that I will have proof that that thing is finally gone
I have never seen them on a Honda, but then again, I do not look at Hondas. I have never liked anything but Ford ( when I was a teenager) and Toyotas. Sorry if I affend anyone, I do not mean to at all, just my opinion.
whale tails dont stick up whatsoever, its just an extention of the factory hatch.

The tail is the top part of my hatch that the guy took off and put it on two make shift poles ( tin, conduit, and some kind of bondo stuff) and screwed it into the hatch. I call it a whale tail cause it looks to me like the tail of a whale as it is going into the water.
That is what we referr to as a "shopping cart handle".

(psssht, flight 747, you are cleared for take-off, taxi to lane 4 please, pssht)

I like that one  I had other names for it but being as I am a woman, I can not say them out loud. Have you seen my roof scope?

Can I send you my "stupidity" ticket, because I didn't realise it was "stupid" to express ones likes. And no I'm not turning into a ricer, not turning my baby Blackpra into "Jap Crap", I just like green, I like the green interior lights, and decided to extend my like of green to the exterior. I'm sorry you apparently have a problem w/ that, but don't think of me as some stupid ricer because I definitly am not. I think the green washer LED lights accent the rise in the hood and it looks a little meaner to me having the green running lights too.
You will never see a Type R sticker or badge on my car, or a grapefruit shooting, fart sounding muffler, or my car lowered so far that it can't make it over speed bumps, but I will continue putting green lights wherever I can get away with them, and that doesn't mean EVERYwhere, just in a few inconspicuous places...

so BillyM :bad-word:

what do you have to say about my crushed velour interior now? ;) :fist:
I think one of the things that I love about the MK2 is that sooo many different things look good on our cars, and every Mk2 is a unique piece of work. That is also what makes the MK2 meets so fantastic, just think how our community would be if noone experimented or added there personal touch to there cars. I for one am all for change and originality.

Tanya and others keep up the good work.
Thank you.

What is rice is very subjective. My car is so low I have to creep over all speed bumps and my exhaust is extremely loud, but no one has ever accused me of being a ricer and my car does not look ricey at all. As long as its done tastefully, thats what I always say.
I agree with that. Different strokes for different folks I always say. But, do you get pulled over for any of that?
Everyone has their own likes and dislikes, don't mean anyone's ricing their rides out. Unless there's the coffee can on the tailpipe, crappy stickers and badges on it, go nuts I'd say. What does it mean to 'rice out' your Supra anyway? Anyone care to give a detailed explination?

Anyone?

No yet (knock on wood). The car isn't stupidly low, the mk2 just doesn't lower very well, its too long and it rubs really easy.
No rubbing the Supras...........well, at least not the underneath anyway
