What’s up guys and gals , I’m new here and decided to throw my newest project up.
A little back story, I’ve always loved cars and everything related with them. I love working on them and bringing them back to life ,I have 3 jeeps and a Datsun 280zx. I have a soft spot for Japanese cars and so does my little brother.
This build is for him. Don’t know what made him want one so bad but for the past year or two he became obsessed with the mk2 Supra. He’s only thirteen but when I saw this one for sale a few hours away and for a rather good price I couldn’t sleep on it. Plan is to get it running and driving reliably by the time he gets his license.

So here’s the project.

A full quart of Marvel Mystery Oil does wonders on cleaning sludge on the top end.
Many here will recommended it on every oil change.

Congrats for doing this for your brother. Hopefully he is alongside with you to learn about it.

There is one for free on another thread...

Just curious, take a pic of the firewall dataplate. We did not see that color too often.
I didi not check locations

Somebody 3D printed them recently...
Is Salt Lake City Utah close enough?
I think the only added external part was in 85 was Knock sensor , which you don't have/need. Other than that, you will have to swap your accessories, and probably the engine harness.
So yes a Cressida engine should be bolt-on.
Yes you can swap main harmonic balancer pulleys. I would swap alt & mount , as the charging sys is different.
To be noted: the 82 has square tooth for timing belt and the 4 pulleys (crank, oil pump, in/out camshaft) can all also all be swapped to the round belt/pulleys - but I woukd leave square 82 to go with the car OE.
The main difference in the gasket is the one between intake runners and intake chamber (where it's cast EFI). The 85 has a D shape openings, while previous have O shape. Since you should keep the 82 intake, go with O, 82. Under that runner, the 85 will have a Knock sensor that you have no use with the 82 harness/ECU.
HTH.
Don't forget, the little jiggle valve of the thermostat goes up!
The best way to fill them is with the hose on head top, rear of cyl #6 open until it is full. Then, there is always as basic help, the car on ramps, and 'pump' the air out of hoses, but I'm sure you already know that.

Yoo pull out your ecu and look inside could be fried
Are you sure you're on the good thread?

Even if I'm not a fan of the L types, those wheels came out great!
And where did you find those mirrors, people might want to know!
Be carefull, you might not want to give it to your little brother when everything is working properly!
The water valve by the wiper motor is on/off type. When 50degC is sensed, the valve fully opens. It's a flap inside that make more/less air through the heater core.
As for the temp gage, the sensor is on the block below #2 intake. A short to ground will peg max the meter, while an open circuit indicates as cold. So the wire going back inside probably has an intermittent short with a ground wire.

Same pump and rack on all years.
From the TSRM, in the Lubricant section:

I think some are rated II and III.
