alright everyone heres whats up....i am turboing a later 5m block and plan on using a 1.2mm mhg...here my question

so can i basically use a late 84 block/rods/crank but use the 83 pistons without having to change anything else? i just want to slightly drop the compression...

or should i use a 1.4 mm mhg and use the original high compression pistons?

any suggestions would be good...

The oil pump, pan, pistons, timing belt, and crank pulley are the only thing that changed from 82-85 in the block.

alright thanks...so this means i could just swap over the 83 pistons in my late 84 block no problem...

correct me if im wrong but arent the crankshafts also different?

sorry if this seems to be a stupid question to some of you, i have only seen the internals of the later style blocks so bare with me...
