Chris Eng and I were on our way back to my house after having dinner.
We were in my car, just cruising and about to turn on the street to go to my house. I spot a accord with a body kit and a big muffler and think it would be nice to have a kill on the way home with Chris in the car. Well, there is too much traffic to be able to do anything and at about that time he turns off anyway. Then I spot a mustang one lane over from my side mirror. Turns out it's a COBRA. All black. Now, I've never raced one of these so I'm curious as to how fast I am in comparison. I get a short space and buzz him to get his attention. Still too much traffic, then he turns on to the freeway! :dancin:
Of course we have to follow, and it takes a little bit to catch back up to him. Now we're on the outskirts of town with little or no traffic.
He moves over and slows down a little. Me and Chris roll up next to him and both cars hit it. :3gears: We were almost dead even. All the way to about 115 when we both shut down. This happened several more times. He could pull me if he got the jump, he was slightly faster, not much.
We both got off the freeway and this guy was cool. He complemented the Supra, he said he didn't pay any attention until I buzzed him and he heard the turbo whistle. :shocked!:
Not exactly a kill, but at least I know I can keep up with a COBRA.

I don't know if Chris soiled his shorts or not. I think he was already spent from me letting him drive on the way to dinner.
I think I got him addicted to boost. :3gears:
He was giggling madly after we raced the cobra though.

Etc etc

So I guess (I'm hoping?) we'll hear about the 550's, Lexus AFM and a TO4 and maybe a standalone computer controlled system sometime after Christmas...? ;)

Yep...more addicting than dope...and it's legal!!

Once you've had boost, you won't go back.

Yeah Jeff, you read my mind. I already have the lexus afm, just need to save up for the 550's and the TO4E upgrade. I lost to a chevy truck when I had the 5M, that's what made me get the 7MGTE.

Shawn, don't know if Chris is fully addicted yet, but once you hit that pipe a couple of times, you have to get your fix somehow.

LOL!!!! Real funny guys!!!!!

Nope, didn't have to change my shorts at all!!!! Considering that I got to drive Jim's car to dinner (and here I thought I would be driving the Pontiac Grand Prix rentalmobile to dinner), and I drove it part of the way home (when I remembered that Jim was going to show me Roy & Ray Cruz's speed shop after dinner, so we switched drivers). I did have a nice big fat grin on my face when I noticed that we were keeping up w/ the Cobra... and I also sort of glanced at the speedo & noticed that we were doing about 110.... This made for a great after dinner activity blast, thanks again Jim!!!

Sorry Shawn, don't have $8K lying around for that "boost fix"... :D Might be awhile...

But yes, boost is fun!!! At least now, I got to discover Jim's car in the colder December air, compared to when I last drove it during the Vegas meet in October, when it was considerably warmer.

Time for a MHG and a 60-trim compressor. Then up the boost and get some race gas.

Say goodbye to mr. slowbra. :)

Good race.

I believe he does have a EBC. I think he told me he's running @ 10 psi. Doesn't want to go any further at this point, until the 550's & the Lexus AFM goes in.

Yeah I know. I'm running a shimmed wastegate at 10psi. Don't want to risk turning it up more until I upgrade the fuel system. Money is the only thing holding me back right now.
