I refinished mine this year and used Mar-Hyde 3811 trim paint. makes it look OEM.
I soaked them in paint stripper for 5 weeks, cleaned off all the old paint, it came down to hooking it out with a mini screwdriver. Washing thoroughly. Primed with Rustoleum green/grey etch primer and 5-6 coats of Mar-Hyde 3811. Should be good for 35 years or so.
- Jeremy, those wiper arms came out great! If you wouldn't mind, could you come down to New Jersey and do my wiper blades for me? There would be a six-pack of Molson's in it for you! Actually my question is, do I have to go to a body shop supply store to find the mar-hyde paint or is it available at the chain auto parts stores? I need to do my mirror housings also.
- JCC, do you need the actual wiper arms, or are you looking for the blade inserts? I have a spare rear wiper assembly, including mounting brackets and motor if you need one.
If you are asking about the actual blade, and do not care about factory originality, you can purchase adapters that will allow the use of a modern cartridge style wiper blade assemblies:

I know that we all would like to be able to replace the drivers side wiper with just a quick cartridge change. The stock wiper won't do that so unless you change the arms with Celica arms what options do you have. I want to keep the original style but be able to replace them with cartridges so...
There is a blade refill that will work left and right. I bought every blade refill that Rockauto had and found one that fit. It has stainless ribs. I cut it down to 14" for the right side using a cut off wheel on the grinder.
Let me look for the model number.
RockAuto ships auto parts and body parts from over 300 manufacturers to customers' doors worldwide, all at warehouse prices. Easy to use parts catalog.

Measure 3 times cut once and remember not to stretch the rubber when cutting. Use a razor blade.
Cut the stainless ribs with a dremel or grinder.
rhartmaier- I got the Mar-Hyde 3811 from the local parts store ( jobers ) they had the best price. 2 cans for $32. Amazon wanted $40 EACH. Keep in mind these cans always go bad at 25-30% left in the can and stop spraying smoothly. So if you think 1 is enough buy two. Need two? Buy 3 etc...
Also whatever you are spraying do it vertically. They suck spraying on a horizontal surface. The like to drop puddles on the piece you are working on and just generally drip. I did my side mouldings on a custom set of bucks to hold them vertically. Only way I could get an even finish.
When I sprayed the wipers I hung them on wire and just held them out in front of me. Then after a coat I would hang to flash for 10-15 minutes then apply another coat. The can says scuff with 3M scotchbright and do 2 coats. Nuh-uhh. 5-7 thin coats works best. Been there done that multiple times this past summer.
