What to look out for when buying a MKII

Rust inside rear fenders

Rust underneath the front spoiler attachment

Rusty side panels on the doors and rear fenders

Rusty radiator
*
DOES GREEN AND CRAPPY COUNT?
Rust on inside seams of doors
*
YEP HOLES
Rust by rear seatbelts (remove rear seat, leaky sunroof or clogged drain lines)

PROBABLY
Hatch rust (remove hatch trim to see if starting)
*
YEP
Rust on rear shock towers
*
NOT YET
Worn automatic windows
*
HA HA HA HA UNDERSTATEMENT
Faulty heater contact (1st and 2nd settings don’t work)

HAVEN'T TRIED THE HEAT YET
Any, ANY wrong sounds from the differential
