A very quick search on eBay yielded this. Almost positive it would work with a little wiring modification (assuming you're handy with that). There are some very good posts about how to mod these for a MK2. My car wasn't running when purchased, and I had to source a used igniter. Been running good since. Good luck!

Coil and ignitor out of a 1984 supra. $100 + Shipping cost. I am building race car and going with a stand alone EMS so I won't be needing it. Sorry for t he price but do to the rules I need to offset all my costs to stay in a budget. I would highly recommend to above maintenance, as it is a 35 year old part. Odometer had 195000 miles. let me know it interested.

First off I'm on a huge budget right now. I don't have a $100 or more to spend on the part. I just dropped $800 into getting all the other new goodies for the engine and trans replacement.

I read all of that thread and have already looked into evilBay and was hoping to find something cheaper.
As for the Other option of a Cressida or MkIII supra. I have looked and had no luck finding one that o can afford right now.
That's why I was on here asking. Was hoping someone might have one and bee willing to help out.

Yep, these are becoming more and more expensive to keep running, its the nature of a classic import car where parts are not easily interchangeable. For $100, that's half of what you've found online for the same part (as stated in your initial post), I thought that it was a pretty good deal for a used part that doesn't come up for sale very often. Its unfortunate, but everything today is much more than it was just 5 or 6 years ago, and its only going to get more expensive as less parts become available. Clearly, there are zero manufacturers out there creating replacement parts for our cars!

When folks are spending 800-1000 bucks just for the side trim moldings on these cars, there comes a time where you have to decide whether you can continue fixing the car and hopefully keep it in good shape to a time when you CAN afford to restore it, or sell it off and let it go to someone who is willing to dump some cash into it to bring it back to life.

I get it. I have own few odd ball cars and still hate one on the family. But right now I'm in pinch...a huge one at that... my DD just lost 2nd gear and then started eating coolant. Now I'm forced to rush this car back on the road. I tried the GM ICM trick but it didn't fix it. Unfortunately I have a limited income after going on disability recently. I'm not asking for a freebie by any means. Just need a break with what's been going on in life.

About 10 yrs ago... there were only like 100 left in ALL OF CANADA... Price was around $450 Cdn...

getting a used OEM one... anywhere near $100 ... is a Bargain... IMHO...

& in order to have the parts I have... I have spent THOUSANDS... of $$ over the last 20 years.... bewtween storing cars indoors... & ultimately buying a 53 ft Trailer... that I pay monthly rent for Storage on a Farm... Prob spent close to $1k on 2 x 4 framework & Shelving

Pressure treated Lumber... to make the 6 stair walk up.. was approx $100 ... just for THAT

This doesn't even factor in the fact that we're talking obsolete parts here... PLUS THE TIME in pulling the part... Storing parts for a QUARTER CENTURY OR MORE!!! & time spent packaging it...

I doubt any of you would work for minimum wage,,, but when ppl "lowball" a person for a part... often Ur essentially putting a value on their time & efforts ... of close to ZERO !!! ...
