Pics of your set up??? Can you scan some time slips? High 11s on a CT26 @ 11psi? And that 1.6 second 60 foot time??? HOW?

All,

The numbers on this Supra are correct. See his 2nd post, it's now a "race only" car that has been back-halved, thus quite a bit of weight has been removed.

This guy first appeared on the Yahoo list almost 2 months ago & William Brennan (william82) called him out as :bs: & thought he was another ricer mouthing off. Turns out the guy did not mention all of the mods that were done, once that was done, everything was cool.

So yes, the numbers are legit folks!!!

Regardless, I still want pictures and more information on his cars suspension setup, extra-injector controller, and exactly how much this car is gutted (what does it weigh). If you are breaking into the 11's, that is quite an amazing feat on a stock 5m bottom end.

Yay for 11's.

lokk the car weigth 2523 whit me in it i have a switch on my manifold thed switch the two injectors on @ +- 5 psi thads it the egt is adout 1300 /1400 degree F.
for the next race we wil change the rear end i am running 4.88 i will change it to 4.55 to see what it will do.
i will bump the boost to 15psi to see what it will run and then the NOS will kick in
the suspension is a 4 link whit coil over shocks.
the tires are 28x11.5x15 in the back.
i will leave the line @4800 rpm the boost gauge will raed 7psi so it will leave whit 7 psi thads the 1.60 60' time and the front tires will be about a foot in the air the set up is power full whit the slicks @6 psi you will hear tire spin in 4 speed thad whit out traction aply on the track.
i have a question:what will you all think the car will run whit 15psi of boost the NOS is a 50 hp shot
depents on the track if it is sliping it will go in @3 speed
and if the track hooks nice it will go in 1 speed what will it run

first of all, i'm sure all of us forum members are pulling for you to run 10's. we are all passionate about our cars and we respect the passion of others, which is the reason for the forum. we'd love to see pics of your setup, wheelie pics, and personally i'd love to see video of your supe leaving the line :!: :D

keep postin' us at the very least, and good luck 8)

p.s.

do you have enough hookup to squeeze in first? if you're doing wheelies with the seutp you have, hitting the bottle might be over the top.

hope you get a bunch of good runs :)

You asked what the car should run at 15 psi with a 50 shot of NOS....

If it doesn't go BOOM due to lack of fuel (we have to assume you have addressed that issue), and if you can get good traction, then my prediction is 10.9 at 125 MPH.

I have a spreadsheet that does predicted times and MPH if you know the cars weight and HP. It predicts for a 2523 lb Mk2 that you can do a 12.01 at 113.4 MPH if your car is putting out 287 HP at the crank (about 244 RWHP). This sounds about right for your car. Stock '82 motor with P&P, intake, headers, exhaust, should put out about 170 HP. 11 psi should gain you another 120 HP, giving about 290 HP at the crank, so your old numbers make perfect sense.
4 more psi should gain another 45 HP, add in the 50 shot and you get about 385 HP at the crank. Spreadsheet predicts 10.90 sec at 125 MPH for 385 HP Mk2 weighing 2523 lbs.

Let us all know how you do. And please post some wheelie pics or any pics you have.

yeah, i did raise the bs flag because what he initially listed as his mods there was no way. but after a lengthy argument we got all the details and it became clear why he was able to run 11's. theres no hard feelings between us, it was just a misunderstanding since he didnt list all of his mods at first. no big deal.

btw, i wouldn't recomend hitting the n20 in first. that will likely blow the engine. wait till at least 2nd. and also, the lower the rpm you hit it, the bigger the jump in tq in the low rpms. so dont hit it too low or a rod or 2 may go through the block. also, are you running forged pistons? if not and your running the cast pistons make sure you have enough fuel. doesnt take much to melt the stock pistons. good luck and let us know what the beast does. also, if you email me the pics ill post them for you. id like to see more detailed pics myself.

Jody,
Leaving the line at 6-7PSI without the N2O will most likely be the way to go. It wouldn't surprise me to find out the N2O is only usable in 4th gear due to traction problems. Maybe late in 3rd gear too, but you're gonna be pretty busy getting on and off the button while shifting if things get out of hand due to traction problems!!.
For those that have never driven a serious drag car on a strip,... Now you know what that IRS and 500lbs of power accessories and creature comforts are costing you!! Plus, a straight axle and a 4 link will do wonders for your traction problems!!
