Just wanted to say Hi. Ive been wanting to get one of these cars for about 6 months now but cant seem to find any. The body style of the Celica Supra is KILLER! I would just like to find more info about this car and if anyone know where I can buy one. If you read my sig you will find out that Im the Prez and Founder of ECN, the biggest Neon club on the East Coast. Please dont hate. Well, thanks for your time.

Welcome to the boards. In the past I had no respect towards the Neon's but now that they come turbo, I watch what I say . Hope you find a mk2 soon

Must say I've never cared for the egg shaped looks of the neons or many other modern cars for that matter, but you gotta respect it runs rings around the primitive mk2 in autocross. Of course thats what 15 years of engineering advancements can do. I think tho you will soon find that the mk2 is a much greater pleasure to drive on a daily basis than the neon. Supra designers though of just about everything except for a damn cupholder.

Don't worry about getting razzed about your neon. This group is much more anti-SUV than anti-sport-sedan. :snipersm:

Speak for yourself, Phil

My license plate holder says :snipersm: "Honda Killer" :burn:

There are a number of nice sounding mk2 Supras for sale on this Forum, as well as on Autotrader. You should be able to find some rust-free ones not too far from your neck of the woods.

Which is best is of course a matter of personal opinion but a couple of quick facts: 82-83 were 145-150hp range, 84 automagic was 150 or 84 w/"power pack" option or 5sp was 160hp, 85-86 all were 160. The larger style sunshade was available thru 84 and the 85-86 got the wraparound spoiler/smaller sunshade. So if you like the larger sunshade and want the extra power, that would limit you to only an 84 w/power pack option. Of course there's also the L vs. Sport model with the L being the "economized
Supra - same engine but drawbacks include lack of fender flares, plain non-adjustable bucket seats and narrower tires (and some years had non-lsd diffs IIRC). Hope you find the one you like best.

If I were you look for a mk2 that has flares with them (P type). I dont think MK2's came with GT models. However, there are some GTS models (I recently found that out  too) I think they only came in Canada. The GT models your talking about might be the Celica (4cyl) they have some what the same body as a supra, except for the front nose.

HTH and isnt confusing  , cuz im starting to confuse my self now

Welcome to the club 8) No hate, I have seen so many Neons walk all over cars at the auto-x....I have nothing but respect for a nicely tuned Neon. We have a great group of enthusiasts here, I think you will like what you see.

You can typically get a nice solid driver for <2,000. I would not buy that heap you mentioned....it will be too much work to get it decent...esp if you do not already have a stash of parts.

What are your goals with the mk2? Drag, autox, drift etc?

all i want is a car that will look good, hadle good and be fast. im gonna use it for a daily driver. ive got to much money in on my neon that i dont want to drive it that much. as far as money goes, im not to worried about it, i was looking for a car that i can "restore". i already know where i can get a parts car for about $200 and it has a new tranny and motor.
but if you dont think i should get it ill keep looking. i just want one bad!!! lol
is there a web site that sells parts for the supras only? i went to nopi, and they didnt have anything. also theres a company that sells stock oem stuff, i just cant think of the name. thanks again.
