Yep, that looks exactly like what Dean Anderson is going to do the Pacesetter I gave him last year. Nicely done! Is that yours?
Yep did that yesterday with a welder friend of mine. I did all the cutting and fitting, he welded. The lower half of the pace setter is just pathetic. Mine was misfitted around the y pipe, it was off by a 1/4 of an inch and they just filled it with weld! Then the Y joins to 2 inch pipes to a single 2inch, then flares it at the end to mate to the stock 2 & 1/4 cat, where the hell is the logic in that??? Also had to pull 2 dents out of the primaries and complete the welds on them on the main flange, they were only tacked in place from the factory :jerkit:

The hardest part was the y pipe. Of the 5 places I checked, one could bring in a double 2 inch to single 2 inch and another could get a double 2 inch to single 2.5, which would have been perfect if it fitted, but I was looking at a week either way to get them in. I ended up buying a chromed muffler tip from a local parts store. The thing actually plugged into the pacesetter downpipe perfectly! I just cut the bottom off and mated a piece of 2.5 pipe to it. All the bends are done with mandrell 2.5 piping cut from a J bend. The whole exhaust will be 2.5 all the way from the Y pipe. I'll finish off the catback today. The header is off to be ceramic coated today as well, hopefully I'll have it all in this weekend.

Nice work. That should definitely improve performance and appearance, expecially with the ceramic coating. Which car is this going into?

yeah, thats pretty nice, but check out these headers i have. hehehe.

Neither one of your pics is showing up. You have a tri-mil and a TRD header??? I thought you just had a tri-mil...
they showed up earlier, must be yahoo. prolly over the alloted bandwidth or something. i have a pacesetter with a moddified 2.5in collector similar to what he did but not nearly as nice. and the pics are of my trd header which is currently on my blue 85 with my hks dummy cat(resonator)and hks exhaust and the other pic is of my tri-mil header which i will use when im done building a high compression 6m to put it and tripple webbers, p&p head, gude cams, etc... on. should be a nice n/a setup. i need to get the trd header and the tri-mil 6-1 both ceramic coated.

Two of the rarest headers out there, and you have one of each... :)
yeah buddy, and i have more rare parts then that. ive got a set of 16x7 enkei' 92's, a set of 15x7 ARE mesh wheels, black leather interior, a body kit( i think its eribuni or kaminari) had some 15x8 5 stars but gave them to my friend for his 280z. he helped me get the ARE's so it was only fare. um, oh, i got a set of addco sway bars, a few hatch covers, i have a stock distributor cover somewhere in my room, maybe 2 i dont remeber, pretty much everthing needed to turbo a 5m, even have an alltrac air-water intercooler, 5mge with 9kmi, spare 5mge, several alts, starters, distributors, ps pumps, wiring harnesses, ignitors, coils, flywheels, blah, blah, blah. damned storage unit costs me $90 a month to keep it all, but hey, its worth it. :)

(wondering what rare parts ill find stashed in my closet when i can finally get to it again. lol)

I was gong to do the same hing with the used pacesetter I bought a while ago and then decided to get a coated thorley insead. Nice work.
William, nice list. One question, where did you find a 5mge with 9000 miles....that motor is not even broke in yet!!!
its out of my first car. my brown 85. i have the receipt when i got it rebuilt and it was in the car less then a year when some guy made an illegal left hand turn in front of me and totalled it. heres a link. so i know for a fact what it is. btw, it has always had castrol syntec 5w-50 oil in it every 750-1k miles.

are you talking about will's or mine? For some reason the two highest res versions of it stopped working. Weird, never had pbase do that to me before. Anyway, it works now, heres the link...

since they arent coming up for you, put your cursor on the red x. then right click. a gray box will open. then left click on properties. next to address is a direct link to the pic. copy it into your browser and it will take you too the pic. the top one is a trd header and the bottom one is a tri-mil 6-1 header.

Holy crap!!! What a great find. Talk about turning back the clock....congratulations!
Cool! what kind of shape are the cylinder bores in though? If its a display motor it wouldn't have been stored properly so you may need to bore it and put some oversize rings in before you use it. Sweet find though!
ok, i figured out the problem with the pics. the album was set to private. i changed it to public so the pics should come up now on the first page.
