Yep did that yesterday with a welder friend of mine. I did all the cutting and fitting, he welded. The lower half of the pace setter is just pathetic. Mine was misfitted around the y pipe, it was off by a 1/4 of an inch and they just filled it with weld! Then the Y joins to 2 inch pipes to a single 2inch, then flares it at the end to mate to the stock 2 & 1/4 cat, where the hell is the logic in that??? Also had to pull 2 dents out of the primaries and complete the welds on them on the main flange, they were only tacked in place from the factory :jerkit:

The hardest part was the y pipe. Of the 5 places I checked, one could bring in a double 2 inch to single 2 inch and another could get a double 2 inch to single 2.5, which would have been perfect if it fitted, but I was looking at a week either way to get them in. I ended up buying a chromed muffler tip from a local parts store. The thing actually plugged into the pacesetter downpipe perfectly! I just cut the bottom off and mated a piece of 2.5 pipe to it. All the bends are done with mandrell 2.5 piping cut from a J bend. The whole exhaust will be 2.5 all the way from the Y pipe. I'll finish off the catback today. The header is off to be ceramic coated today as well, hopefully I'll have it all in this weekend.

Cool! what kind of shape are the cylinder bores in though? If its a display motor it wouldn't have been stored properly so you may need to bore it and put some oversize rings in before you use it. Sweet find though!
