Pic from Mk2 night - Vegas '03

Hey all - I was going through my Vegas pics tonight (and sorting through some shots of the Redpra for another web page).

I shot this while driving to the Mk2 generational party at Jim Coble's place after the Show-'n-Shine. The car in front of me is Jay Balducci's 7M-GTE '85. I liked it, thought you might also...!

Nice pic Bob!!!! The sunset & the mountains in the backround makes it look very cool.

Judging by the tailights up ahead, it looks like we are on the 215 headed for the Durango exit??? (forgot where I was, in relation to the caravan, possible I was behind you).
Very pretty picture. That actually would look cool as hell in the calendar...perhaps as the cover. :D

Sure would be nice to make Vegas next year. Assuming the sky doesn't fall or something like the last two years.
It wouldn't make a bad postcard either!

Gorgeous car, with gorgeous scenery, and a gorgeous sunset. What more could you ask for?

:mk2vroom: into the sunset.
very nice picture!
Nice shot, did you luck-out on this picture.
very nice,I find it deep.. :|
Driving off into the sunset ... very Poetic..

If ya don't mind..think I just found my new wallpaper.

No problem...if you'd like, I'll post a higher-res version for download when I get home tonight (it's on my laptop, not the server, at the moment!).

Mike - if you want that for the calendar, feel free.

Glad you all liked it...yes, I did luck into this one. Right place, right time, with camera. :)

Chris - I think you were ahead of me in the caravan, because I wound up parking behind you at Jim's place.

Jim: I ordered a case of that hot sauce. Will be trying your meatball recipe soon!

Lets see, that's the Redpra on the left, Dave Sheperd (onedic) in front of me, and Zank's 84 on the right.

Heh.... That weird person in the shades & camera strap needs to be photoshop'd out of the picture... (j/k... that's Keith Hart).

Dave @ the starting line.

Ryan Woon's 98 Quicksilver in the far lane, not sure who is in the near lane.

Going up to Red Rock Canyon. Looks like James Sanchez in front of ya. James is another person who needs to get his butt here on the Forums (I told him about the Forums).

Nice picture of Valerie Van Hoozer (in the Red). Husband Daniel (another PacNW member) owns the 98 Quicksilver in the foreground.

Doh, who is this clown in front of you??? :D

Jim Coble's 83 (trust me, it's NOT a 85).

http://www.malibyte.net/Supra/Vegas2003/Vegas_2003-Scenic_Drive0018.jpeg

Looks like custom IC piping handiwork in John Nguyen's (Timezone) 86??

http://www.malibyte.net/Supra/Vegas2003/Vegas_2003-Scenic_Drive0019.jpeg

Yes, you can get a Fluidyne radiator in a MKII, but you have to do a few mods...

http://www.malibyte.net/Supra/Vegas2003/Vegas_2003-Scenic_Drive0020.jpeg

More detail work in John's 86. That is a Cusco STB that is repainted silver.

http://www.malibyte.net/Supra/Vegas2003/Vegas_2003-Scenic_Drive0021.jpeg

L - R: Bill Phillips's Maroon 85 7M-GTE, Bob, Jim, then I think that was Ian Poulan's icky blue 85 that he drove that day.

http://www.malibyte.net/Supra/Vegas2003/Vegas_2003-Scenic_Drive0022.jpeg

Jim Coble's 17" Akuza's on the right. Yes, he is using spacers, it's about a 40+mm offset.

The "good side" of Mike Lewitz's 84 5/7M L-Type.

http://www.malibyte.net/Supra/Vegas2003/Vegas_2003-Show-n-Shine-0010.jpeg

John Nguyen's dash. That is a MKIII tach in there.

Heeheehee... Zank looks lost, dazed & confused... :D

Ernest Palafax's 91 or 92. Won several "Best of" awards & he's only about 10 minutes away from me in Renton.

http://www.malibyte.net/Supra/Vegas2003/Vegas_2003-Show-n-Shine-0031.jpeg

Dave Koos 's 91.

Jim Down's 87T (that's him on the left).

Nice job Bob on the 2 awards (Best Stereo & Best of Show Mild).

Doh..... Getting late, time to go home... Will look at the rest later.

After the parade lap. Right to left: Bob's 85, my Redpra, Jay's Silverpra, Jim's Redpra. Derek's 82 or 83 Blupra L-Type (hard to see). Jim is on the right talking to Derek. Looks like Alan Goodsite on the left.

Myself, Bob, Jim & Jay caravaning back to Vegas after track event is over. From the track to the halfway point home, Jay was driving Jim's car & vice versa.. Doing spring/suspension comparisons. Pulled over at the halfway point & the 4 of us traded cars (I got to drive Jim's car, Bob got to drive Jay's car, Jim drove my Redpra, Jay drove Bob's car). Boost does feel nice... :0)

That about sum's it up!!!! Again, very nice pictures Bob!!!

Hey, thanks - and we'd love to see you guys down here....maybe Seamus will make it down to represent the western part of the country, too....!

I'd like to make it back to Toronto one of these days, too....haven't been there since I was a kid, would like to check the place out.

See you in Vegas next year!

-- Bob --
Come on up man...middle of August is when we hold our big meet, so it'd be great time to come.

I'm just talking to my friend right now whose build a 1j mk3 and it looks like he's dying to come down too. Have to wait till February to see if i can get the Vacation time.

It'll probably take 2-3 days to drive there, 2-3 back and I'd like to stay a week or so, maybe visit the Cali guys...see how Zanks doing :D
