chrisfromda909 - PM me with your email any I can send you a copy of the 82 wiring diagrams for the combination meter and EFI. The diagram shows wire colors as well. By the way is your 82 a Digital or Analog gauge?

This is from the 82 Wiring Diagram I can't find my 86 diagram right now
Single wire to Gauge sensor - Yellow /Green stripe
Dual wire to EFI sensor - Green one wire Brown the other
Dual wire to Cold Start Sensor - Green one wire Black the other

its not a red WIRE, its a red CONNECTOR.

also id like to know where that other connector sitting there goes. i only have 2 connectors on my thermostat housing. both of these wires just hang underneath the distributor.

The square connector looks like the CSI connector?
Not sure about the red one though.
Been a while since I was around a 5M

But the temp guage sensor wire/plug is a little spade terminal, under the dizzy, behind the thermostat housing.

great, where does the CSI connector go? dammit. my temp gauge works, but it acts like its hotter than it is. i turn the key to acc and it moves to 1/4 the way. is there anyway to see where the red plug goes?

Look at the colour of the wire on the red plug, and trace it with a diagram.

Do the same with the square plug.

Cruise Control Thermo Switch
Wiring Diagram does not show a real clear pic of exactly where it is but at least you now know what it is.

Let me know the colors of the wires on the other plug I'll try to find that to, if you want.
