Hey guys hows it going, been looking around the forums for some time now and decided to finally join when I got this MkII that was parked at my pops parking lot.

Let me hit you guys with a little background on myself and how I finally acquired this car. I have always had a things for cars ever since I was little. Never made too much money, but then again who does lol, so I always spent my cashes on other things I like, of which there are many, sound equipment, books, video games here and there, hanging out and other pocket burning hobbies/likes.

I finally got my opportunity to own a car that I actually like, which I was not really looking for, living in New york city and all. It happens that my father owns a parking lot and one of the coolest things about owning one is the amount of cars that come in and surprisingly enough don't want to pay or forget to pay or whatever else can possibly happen. This may seem negative and it is but when things go bad we can always put a lien on it. This, in most cases gets my pops his cash but other times it just does not scare people enough so we lose the scare tactics and switch to the apply for title tactics which basically makes him the new owner of the vehicle. Not every car that people leave behind is a jewel mind you but there are the occasional few and this happens to be one of them. Just asked my pops for it and presto, keys, not that I'm a spoiled brat or anything lol.

The owner wasn't taking care of it properly though so it will take some work but its work I'm willing to do not only because its my first car but also because there's something about this car that called out to me, corny as it might sound. I'm not very picky with certain things but I know damn well whats played out hard, yes Honda I am talking to you and more than that this is one sexy machine.

I was surprised at how well the car started and runs after it being stopped outside in the cold for as long as it was. The car only has about 132k!!!! Pretty sure there are many with less but If you ask me this is still pretty freaking good. It has some rust here and there and I want to take care of that ASAP but other than that the seats are great, close to mint with the exception of losing some color but really good looking nonetheless. What the car really needs is a super duper duper inside and outside cleaning.

Anyways, sorry if this may seem to long for you all. I thought I wouldn't write too much, somewhat shy but after reading some of the stuff most of you put up I have to say you all seem helpful and cool. Hope to learn a lot from you guys and be able to give some advice in the future, whenever possible. Since I love pics and most of you do too I'll post some of the pics I took earlier today.

Nice score, and the price was definately right. Do a search for common rust locations. What are your plans for the car, other than getting it road worthy?

Thanks and it definitely was right lol. I knew I forgot to say something and I'm glad you asked. Well for now I want to clean it up and give it some of the brilliance it deserves while also using cash for some nice bolt on parts for the 5M. Eventually I want to be able to drop a different motor in it, although at the moment I'm not sure which road I'll take.

welcome! there are a lot of people on here that i would consider experts on this car. if you need help with anything i'll be more than happy to help answer any questions or direct you to someone that can.

not a bad score. especially for what you have in it. my family is in the repossession business so im very much aware of the abandonment issue and applying for title. lol.

congrats and again, Welcome!

celicabai / crimsondc5- Thanks for the support and advice. Glad to know I'm not the only one in the NYC area and hopefully we can meet up sometime in the future or if you guys need some help.

dannyr- Thanks to you to bro, if I have any question or concerns you will definitely be the go to man. Also glad somebody knows the repo business as well.

RaceBredMKII- Going to baby this as if it were m first son lol, last owner obviously doesn't know what he's going to be missing out on. One question though, I've been trying to figure out what M.S.S.4 LIFE stands for and I have no idea what it means, although I'm pretty sure there's a supra somewhere lol

do562000- thanks for the heads up man, checked out the belts and they seem pretty new and everything seems to be running like an ox. i do have my work cut out for me but as long as I'm enjoying it it should be smooth sailing.

Thanks again guys

welcome to the forum. couldnt beat the price you got her for. should look good after a good in and out detail. the rust should be first to fix along with servicing everything. then you will have a good mkll for a project car.

Lol, yea I guess you could say it fell in my lap.

Thanks. Good to know someone from the Bronx here, or was at least lol, never actually seen a Supra around here or anywhere in NYC, maybe I just didn't look hard enough, pretty sure there are a few.

If I do and I hope that's nowhere near the future then I'll put it up here first.

The rust is whats killing me right now :frown: It doesn't look that bad but I feel that If I start lifting stuff up it just may end up being worse than I think or not. I'll do it anyway because I don't like half assed jobs. I can probably buy the welder a month from now to do this job myself but even if I did, finding a place where I would not have to move the car and keep all my stuff would be difficult. It's too cold to it at the lot and the house garage has 2 other cars there. Going to see if I can get it done proper and cheap which is sometimes hard to put together.

Anyways, thanks again all.

you sould be able to get a arc welder for 89$ or near that to fix the car or have some one else to it but it might cost you more
