Putt a Turbo on a 5M-E ???

Anny one know if there is a bult on Turbo kit fore the 5M-E ??

If you can find a turbo and manifold from a M-TEU, that will bolt right on. I doubt there is an aftermarket kit available, and even if there was, it would have gone out of production long ago.

Can be done, but I would STRONGLY recommend that you find some sort of metal head gasket for this motor!!!! The 5ME is known for having really bad BHG problems (almost on par w/ 7M's), but it's not as bad as 4ME's, and 5M/6MGE's.

Somone had done a Turbo 5ME (Kevin in AUS), and has had 2 BHG's. Has now gone to a Turbo 6MGE I believe???

Kevin turboed a 5m-ge in the end. Trying to turbo the 5m-e was getting to be an expensive excercise for him

IMO it's not worth it. It'll be much worse than the 7m bhg problem that everyone harps on about, at least it's fairly easy to fix that.
