While my auto air make a clicking sound...not constant I read to clean the potentiometer on the temp lever ....since I have my dash apart is this the right piece..took this off of one in the junkyard along with the DVV.Going to give it a shot of contact cleaner and get it cleaned up before I replace it. Just want to make sure its the right piece

Cleaning results

Ok found another 84 in the junkyard with the DVV, and the temp switch, so while I had the dash apart I got electrical cleaning fluid spray and sprayed the hell out of the switch that I got at the junkyard.I replaced the origional with that one .Well now the clicking stop noise that I had when I adjust the temp switch has ceased ,but now I have a sound that seems like a relay opening and closing...click..a few seconds in between..click. At this point I'm assuming that its the DVV this time and I'll have to replace it..

You talking about this one Mike  I don't know either.

I think theres 2 pot contacts to clean :?
That's behind the directional selector. It's not a pot, it's a switch of some nature. It has to do with the Auto Air. Just tells the Auto Air where the air is going.

The pic in the first post is definitely the pot....I just replaced this item... NO MORE CLICKING! The pot is in the same harness as the directional selector switch so they both gotta come out unless you hack wires.
