Months ago I saw that the Boot on my Rack and Pinion was torn all the way around allowing dust and dirt to get in. I decided to ignore it and leave it as it was. That was the biggest mistake I made. Because of that I had to buy a new rack and pinion, and I have to get the tires aligned again. Well, what I really want to say is that if you have this problem try to fix it before it becomes a problem. It’s a PITA to take out when it has oil all over it.

and yes my inner and outter tie rod ends were shot to hell

At least it'll be nice and shiny

That sucks though, and I know where you're coming from, sometimes you just want to put something off for a little while because you don't need the worry and then bam... it breaks.

had a similar problem a while back. boots torn, tie rod ends shot, and the rack was leaking too. scored a rack with new boots and tie rod ends at pap. bought new rack bushings and killed three birds with one stone. the donor car had one third the mileage my car had :!:
