- get 'em from the dealer - they're basically o-rings
- install them carefully -- use vaseline on the ring to keep it in place while you get the cover aligned
- don't overtorque the covers or you will HATE yourself

do you have the torque specs for this? i do not have my manuals. They are in storage. I am unable to get to them for a while.

There are no torque specs. It's a steel bolt going into an aluminum head, so it's REALLY easy to strip.

Just use a small ratchet (IIRC they're 10mm bolts) and get it 'finger tight' using the ratchet.

Err on the side of caution. Trust me on this one.

Glad you were able to get in there to drill it out. Sometimes you have to learn the hard way how easy it is to break stuff like that.
