Good afternoon all-I hope everyone has very little drama this season...lol
I am needing to replace my rear wheel bearings-among other things-possibly rebuilding the rear also. As far as bearings, and associated bits, I am wondering of they are the same as for Celica GTS of same year? Is toyota the only place to get the crush sleves?
I have been through reading through the posts on the whole thing about these wheel bearings (and rear ends also), none of it seems like fun, so I am going to prepare as much as possible before starting-thanks again to everyone who has posted!

You obviously haven't read all the threads. There is a huge one on the sleeves being discontinued and potential replacements. It's in the drivetrain forum. Also yes the GTS rear is the same.

Or, you may consider used control arms for a quick fix. If you can find them.
Yeah, what you are facing does NOT sound like fun.

Hey all-Thanks for the replies and input-To Funkycheese-YES you are correct- I likely did not find all applicable links or threads. However I am planning to carry on and do the nasty deed regardless. I am hoping someone can tell me what the thread size and related pitches are, as I plan on making my own pullers(s) as required. I do have a lathe, and access to a slide hammer, so I am hoping I will be able to complete the job without pulling out whatever is remaining of my hair-LOL!
Also-If anyone has any pics of this job in progress-could you possibly share, or point me in a direction to find them??
I will be doing this job in NH, in winter, outside (cant complain TOO much-68 GTO on rotisserie in garage-so theres that)-nevertheless I would like to be as effecient as possible to lessen the pain, aggrivation, and complaining to my wife.....if you all catch my drift!!

Thank you ALL again for the wealth of knowledge, tips, tricks, and procedures that would NEVER be avaialble without such a devoted community.
Merry christmas, Happy holidays, Kool Kwanza, and best wishes for whatever you may celebrate this season-to ALL!

Update to my wheel bearing saga-seems it might NOT be the bearings after all. I am wondering (and hoping for some advice) about the CV joints between the diff and the hubs? Does anyone have any experience with them? Any information on part numbers or availability? And thanks again in advance for anyone who might be able to contribute!!

The rear half-shaft are known to be very reliable, unless you put down 400HP+, or a boot got dammage from road debris.
Unique to the MA60.
They are pretty easy to find used.
