There is a red LED to the left of my volt-meter in the dash. There is no label on it, but it is always liit when the car is on. Im usually at 14 volts or so when the car is running, so I didnt think anything was wrong with the alt. Occasionaly when I hit the brakes, turn signals, or windows the headlights dim slightly. The battery never dies, nor does the alternator light come on. Any ideas?

I also have a red LED to the left of the volt meter in my 83'. It comes on whenever the key is on, but the system is not charging. If you haven't, make sure your alternator is charging (with a multimeter), and if it is, start looking for whatever sends the signal to the LED.
