I got a red top optima battery for my MK2 and it won't work with the factory battery holder (the thing that bolts onto the top of the battery to keep it from moving). The optima is to narrow to work, has anyone know of a solution to my problem? Thanks

Do you mean too short? My Optima came with a plastic spacer to put underneath now it sits at the stock height.....if I HAD a tie-down I'm sure it would work.

Narrowness really wouldn't affect the tie down as it pushes down on the battery.

I ended up using a 1" block of Oak to bring the battery up to the proper height so the stock battery tiedown would work. I'm looking into a nylon or urethane spacer at the moment since the block of oak will eventually get wet and deteriorate. The spacers they normally have taped to the battery only bring it up about ¼", maybe a bit more, but wasn't quite enough to give the proper height for the tiedown...
